Issues

The clients architect identified pre-application that a Heritage assessment would be required for submission with the proposed planning application as a validation requirement due to the building subjected to the propsoal being a Grade II Listed Building.

Solution

East Anglian Heritage undertook writing a Heritage Impact Assessment (HIA) of the site outlining the benefits of the project over any potential harm to the heritage assets. This required identifying the surviving parts of the listed building which brought heritage significance to the  listed building due to noted remodeling of the building in the 1980-1990 as part of a earlier conversion into a convenience shop and post office.

Outcomes

The HIA was submitted by the client architect has part of a Listed building application and a planning application.
